Other AircraftVersatilityBoth the Super Puma and the S-61 simulator may be used as generic training devices for other aircraft. Commonality of design is a Eurocopter (EC) philosophy, thus suiting the Super Puma as a training platform for other EC types. The S-61 shares features with several other Sikorsky models and with other helicopters of U.S. origin. As such they may be used to gain credits towards licences issued by the JAA, FAA and other aviation authorities. They are an ideal and economic solution to meet the requirements of Multi-Crew Co-operation (MCC) training. CHC simulators are also ideally suited to basic VFR and IFR training as well as procedural instrument flying for a variety of helicopter types for which no simulator exists. This capability is particularly well suited to low-budget EMS, logging and heavy-lift operations. Crews may prepare for difficult situations that may occur during real operations. |
