EEA Helicopter Operations B.V. (“EEA”), operating under the CHC brand name and using the CHC logo under license, operates a modern fleet of medium and heavy, twin-engine helicopters to support its operations in the UK.


To service oil and gas customers in Scotland, EEA’s subsidiary CHC Scotia Ltd utilises its principal base in the UK, located in Aberdeen, and has access to extensive local support facilities, located around the Aberdeen Airport base. CHC Scotia also has bases in North Denes and Humberside, both in England, to support customers in the southern sector of the North Sea; and a base in Blackpool, England to support customers in the Irish Sea. CHC Scotia employs a workforce of approximately 460 people in support of oil and gas operations in the UK.


CHC Scotia’s Search and Rescue (SAR) operations in the UK are for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) Interim SAR contract, awarded in December 2005. The five-year contract commenced in July 2007, and is supported by new technology aircraft. CHC Scotia’s search and rescue services are provided from bases at Stornoway (Western Isles),

Sumburgh (Shetland Isles), Lee-on-Solent (Hampshire), and Portland (Dorset).

Services Provided

CHC Scotia is dedicated to providing quality aviation services for both Search and Rescue, and offshore oil and gas operations in the UK.


CHC Scotia’s services in support of the oil and gas industry in the UK include, service to exploration rigs, development facilities, and production platforms. In addition to these services, CHC Scotia provides flare tip changes and under-slung load lifting. Out of its base in Aberdeen, CHC Scotia operates a large fleet of Eurocopter EC225, Sikorsky S-92, and Super Puma aircraft. To service the southern sector of the North Sea, CHC Scotia operates a fleet primarily composed of Sikorsky S-76, AS365 Dauphin and AgustaWestland AW139 aircraft.
