EEA Helicopter Operations B.V. (“EEA”), operating under the CHC brand name and using the CHC logo under license, operates a modern fleet of medium and heavy twin-engine helicopters, to support it’s operations in Norway. EEA’s subsidiary. CHC Norway AS, began helicopter operations in Norway in 1956, as Scancopter Service AS.

Today, CHC Norway, is the leading provider of offshore helicopter support in the Norwegian North Sea. The company’s Norwegian operations are headquartered in Stavanger, with additional permanent bases in Bergen, Florø, Kristiansund and Brønnøysund. CHC Norway also has operations at various offshore installations in the North Sea.

In 2007, CHC Norway was awarded three major contracts by Statoil ASA for the provision of helicopter services in the North Sea. Collectively, these contracts are believed to be the world’s largest helicopter services bundle, calling for five Sikorsky S-92 and six Eurocopter EC225 helicopters.

Services Provided
CHC Norway operates crew change, in-field shuttle, and search and rescue services supporting many Norwegian oil and gas operations. The company operates a fleet of more than 25 large, twin-engine helicopters, including six new-generation Sikorsky S-92 helicopters and the world’s most advanced civilian fleet of Super Puma aircraft, the EC225.

CHC Norway’s search and rescue operations in Norway includes four Super Puma AS332L/L1 based offshore in Norway, with two operating from the Ekofisk field at all times. The Super Puma, along with the new EC225 at Statoil's Statfjord field, can be converted from inter-rig shuttle role to SAR duty role within 15 minutes. Several of the Super Pumas in the Norwegian fleet are prepared for the same quick change to SAR configuration. CHC Norway are operating four SAR offshore bases; Ekofisk/Valhall Field which is south in the North Sea, and Oseberg, Statfjord and Heidrun further North in the North Sea.
