William Amelio, President and Chief Executive Officer
 
Mr. Amelio joined CHC as president and chief executive officer in August 2010, bringing with him a distinguished record of senior leadership at several major corporations. During his tenure as president and chief executive officer of the Lenovo Group, immediately prior to joining CHC, the company integrated what had been IBM’s Personal Computer business, implemented a broad-reaching business-transformation program, introduced the Lenovo brand around the world, and quintupled sales.  Mr. Amelio has also managed major business units for leading companies such as Dell, NCR, and AlliedSignal.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and an honorary doctorate in engineering from Lehigh University.  Mr. Amelio earned a master’s degree in management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he is a Sloan Fellow. Mr. Amelio and his wife, Jamie, founded Caring for Cambodia, a nonprofit organization to improve education for children in Cambodia by building schools, training teachers and providing for essential personal needs.

Joan Hooper, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
 
Ms. Hooper was appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer in October 2011, joining CHC with extensive experience in finance senior leadership.  Ms. Hooper led finance organizations for Dell’s Global Public and Americas business units, and was the chief accounting officer for the company.  Before Dell, Ms. Hooper was executive vice president and CFO of FreeMarkets, an innovative provider of procurement tools and services, which she helped take public in 1999 in a highly successful IPO.  A finance graduate of Creighton University, Ms. Hooper holds a master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. 

 

Operating Divisions


Peter Bartolotta -  Chief Operating Officer and President, CHC Helicopter Services

Mr. Bartolotta joined CHC Helicopter in June 2012 as chief operating officer and president, Helicopter Services.  Beforehand he had led top companies to operational excellence through disciplined business management systems, and commitment to strategy, talent and execution as key success factors.  Most recently, he was senior vice president, Global Services, at Lenovo Corporation, which operates in more than 160 countries.  He had arrived at Lenovo in 2007 as chief of staff for then-CEO William Amelio, who now holds that role with CHC.  Mr. Bartolotta oversaw operations for the aerospace electronics unit of Allied Signal’s Honeywell subsidiary, and was an executive at NCR Corporation and IBM.  He earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin, and bachelor’s and associate’s degrees in chemistry from the State University of New York.
 
Larry Alexandre, President, Heli-One
Mr. Alexandre was appointed president of Heli-One in June 2011, with a background of driving cultural and operational changes by deploying Lean processes in aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, repair and operations. Mr. Alexandre served as chief executive officer of Sagem Avionics, a member of the Safran group of companies.  He also held leadership positions with Turbomeca, including chief operating officer of the company’s businesses in the United States, Canada, and Brazil, as well as Teleflex’s aerospace division.  Mr. Alexandre holds a master’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University.

Dan McDonald, Senior Vice President, Fleet and Commercial
 
Mr. McDonald, who came to CHC in 2009, has extensive expertise in fleet planning and management, restructuring, cost savings, strategy, corporate development, starting new businesses, procurement and sales.  Prior to CHC, he served as vice president of finance, strategy and fleet planning at Northwest Airlines and senior vice president of business development at Compass Airlines.  Mr. McDonald holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and a master’s of science from the Center for Aerospace Sciences at the University of North Dakota.
 
 
Jack Dougan, Senior Vice President, Strategic Program Management

Mr. Dougan joined CHC in 2010 with a background in strategy development to drive revenue growth and improve operational efficiency.  Mr. Dougan began his career in strategy and operations with consulting assignments at AT Kearney and Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman).  Prior to CHC, he was vice president of global strategy and business development for Thomson Reuters.  Mr. Dougan holds a master’s degree in business administration from the UCLA John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management.
 
 
 
 
 
Michael Summers, Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Mr. Summers came to CHC in 2010 with 29 years experience as both a human resources executive and consultant.  His 15 years with Fortune 500 corporations include actively contributing to operating performance and success through effective organizational design, talent acquisition and development, and human-resource strategies well integrated with business objectives.  Mr. Summers received his bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology from Fairmont State College and completed his master’s degree in industrial relations at West Virginia University.
 
 
 

Michael O’Neill, Chief Legal Counsel


Mr. O’Neill was appointed chief legal counsel in February 2011. Before joining CHC, Mr. O’Neill served as senior vice president and general counsel for the Lenovo Group, where he was responsible for all legal issues, contracts, government affairs and security.  He earned his law degree and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Baltimore, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration/economics from Belmont Abbey College.  Mr. O’Neill also completed George Washington University’s Postgraduate Masters Program in Government and Technology Contracting and Duke University’s Postgraduate Corporate Counsels Program.
 
 
Paul King, Vice President, Chief Information Officer
 
Paul King.jpgMr. King was appointed vice president and chief information officer in 2010, three years after joining CHC as director of information systems.  He also served as CHC’s director of global information technology and led a Global Operations project to redesign and build the data center and all related IT serves for a partner company.  Mr. King’s 20 years of information-technology leadership include 12 years in the biotechnology field with Inex Pharmaceuticals and QLT Inc.  Mr. King holds a master’s degree in information technology from the University of Liverpool.
